SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN, the world's leading trade fair for joining, cutting and surfacing, is starting the planning for the 2025 and 2029 trade fair years with a strong tailwind. The trade fair's advisory board, consisting of exhibitors and industry experts, is in favour of the necessary step of holding the world's leading trade fair once after two years in 2025 and then returning to the usual four-year rhythm from 2029. Next year's edition of SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN from 15 to 19 September will offer an exclusive setting under the motto ‘Join the Future’, which will strengthen the continuous exchange within the industry.
Johannes Ried, Chairman of the Advisory Board and Managing Director of MicroStep Europa GmbH, emphasises: “2025 will be a valuable platform for providing new impetus and jointly shaping progress in the industry. With the four-year cycle, SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN is returning to its roots. This gives the industry stability and clear planning perspectives.” Oliver P. Kuhrt, CEO of Messe Essen, adds: “SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2025 has already booked over 90 per cent of the exhibition space. This is anything but a matter of course in the current difficult market conditions. We greatly appreciate this extraordinary commitment from our exhibitors - it is an expression of the fact that SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN is highly recognised in the industry and can build on a strong, reliable partnership.”
Dr Harald Scherleitner, Global Director Sales & Marketing of the Fronius Business Unit Perfect Welding, also supports the trade fair as a member of the Advisory Board: “SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN is and remains the most important business platform in the international trade fair calendar for Fronius. This is where the world's experts come together and can gain a comprehensive overview of the market. I look forward to many interested visitors and discussions in 2025.”
New expertise on the trade fair advisory board
The advisory board will be strengthened by five experienced industry experts who will help shape the successful future of SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN with their extensive market knowledge. Dr Laura Dorfer, Managing Director of VDMA Fachverband Schweiß- und Druckgastechnik e.V; Stefanie Nüchtern-Baumhoff, Head of Marketing & Communication at Carl Cloos Schweißtechnik GmbH; Max Rinnert, Managing Director of Rinnert GmbH & Co. KG; Heinz Soyer jun., Managing Director of Soyer Bolzenschweißen GmbH; and Simon Telöken, Managing Director of TEKA Absaug- und Entsorgungstechnologie GmbH, have joined as new members with immediate effect.
The exhibitors have been closely associated with SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN for many decades. Max Rinnert emphasises the importance of the trade fair: “SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN is an indispensable anchor point in the international world of the metalworking industry. The return to the established rhythm is necessary and right, as it continuously drives the industry forward. We will also be there in 2029, as we have been since the start of SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN in 1952, to present our extensive portfolio to the professional world.”
With its clear focus on the four-year cycle and the targeted integration of new expertise in the Advisory Board, SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN is ideally equipped for the challenges of the future. The industry can look forward to innovative developments and new contacts. Heinz Soyer Jr. is convinced: “SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN is more than just a trade fair – it is the central meeting place for everyone who is anyone in the industry and an absolute must-attend event that no one should miss. We have been part of this unique network for 50 years and are looking forward to the upcoming events.”
