The 27th edition of BEIJING ESSEN WELDING & CUTTING (BEWC) will open its doors at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 13 to 16 August 2024. The renowned foreign offshoot of the world's leading trade fair SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN is Asia's most important platform for joining, cutting and surfacing technology. "The industry can look forward to four days full of innovations and many opportunities for international dialogue. Shanghai, as one of the world's most dynamic and important economic centres, offers ideal conditions for BEWC. The city is a central hub for trade and industry," says Oliver P. Kuhrt, CEO of Messe Essen.
With a total of over one billion tonnes of steel produced, China is the world's largest producer of crude steel. Chinese producers account for more than half of global crude steel production. The demand for solutions and expertise for further processing is correspondingly high. This year's edition of BEWC, which is being organised with the partners DVS - German Welding Society, CMES - Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, Welding Institution of CMES, CWA - China Welding Association and Welding Equipment Committee of CWA, is once again attracting strong interest: 620 exhibitors from 22 countries will present their latest products and services on an area of over 60,000 square metres in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
In addition, this year's BEWC accompanying programme offers an excellent framework for further education and professional exchange. Experts will pass on their knowledge on current topics in the industry in a series of technical seminars and at the International China Welding Industry Forum.
German joint stand opens the door to a key region
One highlight is the German pavilion, where 22 companies will be presenting their innovations "made in Germany". The area is once again sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Economics. The People's Republic remains an important market for exhibitors, as the demand for high-quality joining, cutting and surfacing technology continues to grow. In particular, German companies see great potential in sectors such as mechanical and plant engineering, vehicle construction, infrastructure, shipbuilding, aerospace and the high-tech industry. The DVS and Messe Essen will once again be jointly represented at the German Pavilion and will be available to answer any questions - also about the next world's leading trade fair SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN from 15 to 19 September 2025 at Messe Essen.
