Friction stir welding joins – not only aluminium!
RIFTEC - that's us: Dr. Axel Meyer with his team of more than 30 highly motivated employees. We are pioneers of friction stir welding, because together we launched this process for the industrial application more than fifteen years ago!
We are welding a wide range of components as series production for our customers from all over Europe – from the extremely thin-walled extrusions for automotive applications to high vacuum-tight aluminium-stainless steel joints for the medical technology up to high-strength and thick-walled extrusions for the aerospace industry and the railway industry. Even cast parts are not a problem for us!

Since 2013 our company is part of the Austrian HAI group, with its more than 1000 employees one of the “big players” on the European aluminium market. Through this affiliation we have direct access to almost the entire value chain of aluminium - from billets to the most demanding extrusions up to the friction stir welded and finished component, all from one source.
Together with HAI we meet the highest quality demands of our customers: We can influence the exact composition of the raw material, the maximum optimization of our in-house extrusions, use the common infrastructure for our continuous quality controls and by this achieve the best possible results for our customers and their friction stir welded components.
The various applications of our welding technique are not limited to homogenous welds. Besides from the above mentioned aluminium-stainless steel joints, further combinations are routine. Amongst others we are welding for our customers aluminium-copper, combinations of different alloys and different sheet thicknesses and we are sealing coolers made of casting with covers made from sheets.
Whether prototype, one-off item or series production - we aim to meet the demands of our customers, flexible and customer-oriented. As mere subcontract work or with extensive preparatory and subsequent work and additional purchases.
