The ultimate line-up includes products designed for TIG, MMA and MIG applications, as well as fully-featured multi-process systems.
Today in stand 6A13 in Hall 6 at the Schweissen & Schneiden trade fair ESAB unveiled its new Rogue EM 180 (ESAB MIG/MAG/MMA) and Rogue EMP 210 (ESAB Multi-Process) compact and lightweight inverter-based welding power sources. Rogue EM 180 and Rogue EMP 210 make it easier to weld with optimized arc settings because they feature advanced digital interfaces and offer functions such as Synergic Control and Arc Dynamics, a control to fine-tune arc characteristics for a crisp/stiff arc when welding carbon steel or a smooth/soft arc when welding stainless steel. Stand visitors will be able to weld with the Rogue EMP 210 so they can experience the reasons why it appeals to users in the light fabrication and light construction industries, auto repair and restoration, metal art, maintenance and farm/agriculture industries.
With Synergic Control, sometimes called “one knob control,” welders set the wire type, wire diameter and shielding gas mix. The machine will then automatically set and maintain optimized welding parameters throughout the range of material thicknesses, eliminating the guesswork associated with traditional controls. To weld faster or “hotter,” simply increase wire feed speed. To weld slower or “cooler,” decrease wire feed speed. A “trim” or voltage control enables fine-tuning arc length to produce a flatter bead or a higher crown.
“The Rogue series represents ESAB’s ability to transfer the features and benefits of our heavier industrial machines into light industrial welders that meet the diverse needs of welding professionals and first-time welders,” said Olivier Biebuyck, President, Fabrication Technology, ESAB Corporation. “The industrial technologies found inside Rogue make it easier to improve weld quality and productivity.”
“Rogue EM and Rogue EMP welders build on the Rogue brand promise of an unbeatable combination of performance, power and price,” said Mike Sammons, Global Product Manager, ESAB Light Industrial Products. “Combined with our award-winning MMA and TIG Rogue welders, ESAB now offers a broad portfolio of feature-rich-yet-affordable machines that delivers benefits for users of all skill levels.”
Rogue EM 180
The Rogue EM 180 weighs 16.2 kg, connects to 230V mains power and has compatibility with 10 kVA generators. It provides a maximum welding output of 180A for welding with mild steel, stainless, aluminium, silicon bronze and cored wires up to 1.0 mm. It also provides an MMA output of up to 150A for welding with electrodes up to 3.2 mm.
A 14-segment digital display shows parameters and details. Users can set voltage and wire feed speed (which controls amperage) with traditional controls, or they can operate the machine in synergic MIG mode with the additional controls found inside the wire feed compartment. Using the display and adjustment knobs, operators can set advanced functions found in industrial systems, such as wire run-in speed (for softer arc starts), burnback control (to ensure the wire does not stick in the weld puddle), 2T/4T trigger control (standard or “latch” mode to reduce hand fatigue) and gas pre-flow and post-flow (to prevent weld puddle contamination).
Rogue EM 180, as well as the Rogue EMP 210, accept 100 and 200 mm diameter wire bobbins.
Rogue EMP 210
For even more performance and flexibility, the multiprocess Rogue EMP 210 provides a MIG/MAG output of 210A, an MMA output of 180A and a TIG output of 210A, all at 25% 30% duty cycle. Operators can use mild steel, stainless, aluminium, silicon bronze and cored wires up to 1.0 mm, MMA electrodes up to 4.0 mm and tungstens up to 3.2 mm. The Rogue EMP 210 weighs 16.7 kg and connects to 230V mains power power and has compatibility with 10 kVA generators.
Rogue EMP 210 features a 110 mm (5-in.) TFT LCD display that enables users to access a full suite of advanced process controls to further improve welding performance, such as 10 JOB locations for saving and quickly recalling favorite JOB’s.
For MIG/MAG welding, controls accessible through the TFT display include setting timers for spot welding and stitch welding and gas pre- and post-flow. For MMA, users can select MMA arc characteristics optimized for basic/rutile electrodes (e.g., 7018 and 6013) or cellulosic electrodes (e.g., 6010 and 6011). An adjustable Hot Start function increases current beyond the set value for a few milliseconds to help establish the arc. It especially helps with low-hydrogen electrodes, which can be notoriously difficult-to-start. Its adjustable Arc Force control increases amperage when the arc voltage drops below a preset threshold. As a result, operators can hold a shorter arc length without the electrode sticking, which is beneficial when welding in narrow gaps, in corners and out-of-position.
Rogue EMP 210 and Rogue EM 180 also feature Power Factor Correction (PFC). PFC increases electrical efficiency, reducing the likelihood of tripping a circuit breaker. PFC also compensates for the voltage drop that occurs with long extension cords, helping maintain a steady welding output.
The package includes a 210A multi-process power source with mains cable, MXL 201 MIG torch with 3m cable, three feed rolls for common wires, a Handy 200A heavy-duty electrode holder, gas hose with quick connect and samples of filler metals (ESAB OK AristoRod 12.50 0.8mm 1kg and ESAB GoldRox Electrode, 2.5x350 mm 1 kg).

AUTONOMOUS: esab adaptio SAW TECHNOLOGY
ENABLES ROOT-TO-CAP WELDING WITHOUT OPERATOR INTERVENTION
ESAB has launched the world’s first adaptive submerged arc welding (SAW) technology, called Adaptio, which enables fully autonomous multi-wire/multi-layer welding in U bevels with a depth down to 150 mm (6 in.). Adaptio automatically compensates for deviations in bevel angle, gap and alignment, enabling a complete weld from root to cap without operator/welder influence. The technology made its debut at ESAB stand 6A13 in Hall 6 at Schweissen & Schneiden, held 11 - 15 September in Essen, Germany.
“ESAB’s Adaptio technology improves productivity and quality when welding large diameter and thick-wall objects, such as monopiles, wind towers, tanks and pressure vessels and offshore applications,” says Antonio Leon, Vice President and General Manager, Global Automation, ESAB. “Combined with our best-of-class submerged arc welding systems, filler metals and application engineering expertise, Adaptio technology shows why ESAB continues to be the industry’s preferred SAW solution provider.”
Peter Kjällström, Product Director Automation and Handling Equipment at ESAB, explains that bevel dimensions fluctuate in large diameter objects and thick sections due to cutting or milling imperfections. If an operator is observing the weld and manually adjusting SAW torch position and welding parameters, bevel irregularities and joint misalignments require reducing welding speed. Even then, the human eye cannot detect bevel variations in large objects (e.g., a 3 mm deviation in a wind tower base with a 4.5 m circumference).
“The inability of humans to recognize and compensate for deviations leads to an increase in defect rates, noticeably slag inclusions and poor bead positioning,” says Kjällström. “Rework can become costly and time-consuming in large weldments, leading to production delays.”
Laser seam tracking can help keep the wire in position and subsequently increase welding speed, but the system cannot choose the correct bead order position, nor can it compensate for variations in bevel angle or gap, which increases the risk of patching in the cap pass. For example, if the crown of the weld is too high, or the weld beads are not placed correctly, the weld may not meet structural welding code requirements and must be repaired.
“Adaptio uses a combination of laser and optical vision systems, combined with leading edge hardware and software, to automatically read the bevel, plan bead placement and automatically compensate for irregularities,” says Kjällström. “During weld execution, Adaptio uses feedback from its sensors to adjust weld metal deposition rate, travel speed and bead placement — while staying within the WPS — so that the complete weld will not need any patching. After completing the cap, the system can even automatically read and document the bead height and toe angle for documentation purposes.”
Adaptio technology works with the following wire arrangements: single, twin, Tandem (single-single) and Tandem (single-twin); in the future, Tandem (single-ICE) will be possible. Compensations are made to the trailing wire operating in AC mode with the wire energized by an ESAB Aristo™ 1000 AC/DC. Adaptio, which requires a PLC for control, can be integrated with ESAB’s CaB (column and boom) model 460, 600 and 815 SAW welding systems and roller beds.

ESAB COMBIREX PRO AUTOMATED CUTTING MACHINE NOW FEATURES IMPROVED ACCURACY, DURABILITY AND TRAVEL SPEED
ESAB today launched its Combirex Pro, an enhanced version of its best-selling cutting machine with improved accuracy, durability and speed for automated plasma and oxy-fuel cutting and beveling. New features include dual linear rails on the cross beam and heavy-duty crane rails mounted on H-beams on both sides of the machine for X axis movement. A redesigned side carriage increases maximum travel speeds to 1,400 ipm (35.5 m/min), a 40% improvement.
“The Combirex Pro now uses the same heavy-duty crane rails as our bigger Suprarex™ large gantry cutting machine,” says Steve Zlotnicki, Global Product Manager, ESAB Cutting Systems. “Our objective with the Combirex Pro re-design was to create a more robust, longer-life and high-accuracy machine with a compact footprint. With a Combirex Pro, users can tackle more applications without having to step up to a larger machine or worry about taking up too much floor space. The redesign also enables users to gain the full speed and accuracy capabilities of our precision drives, motors and controllers.”
The Combirex Pro now offers an additional 19.7 in. (500 mm) of cross travel, which enables users to cut a 10-ft. (3m) plate even if the machine is equipped with ESAB’s DMX Beveller and a water table. The Combirex Pro is available in five different width options from 5 to 10 ft. (1.5 to 3 m) and with rail lengths from 16.4 to 65.6 ft. (5 to 20 m). It can be equipped with four tools, including one plasma torch or up to four gas torches, as well as marking tools.
The Combirex Pro comes with ESAB’s next-generation Vision T6™ CNC controller and works with ESAB’s iSeries high-precision plasma power sources in configurations from 130 to 600 amps. It also incorporates ESAB’s SmartCycle 2.0 technology to increase productivity, and it works with ESAB’s Columbus® CAD/CAM software and InduSuite CutCloud™ analytic applications.
“As part of an ESAB integrated system, the Combirex Pro delivers shorter cycle times, more precise cuts, more efficient workflow and reduced cost per part,” says Zlotnicki.
Safety and Serviceability
The Combirex Pro is equipped with an innovative safety package that provides full compliance with EC Machinery Directive. It features light curtains and bumper guards on the front and back of each side carriage and locates the Vision T6 controller between the light curtains.
“We made operation intrinsically safer because the light curtains will detect people within the work envelope and stop the system in the event of an incident,” says Zlotnicki. “This helps protect workers who are not aware of the moving gantry, may have fallen unconsciously on the table or who try to intentionally step over or under the light curtain.”
To improve serviceability, users can quickly and easily disengage the rail axis drives using a simple cam-lock lever. This system improves machine motion and pinion life with a fixed pinion-to-tooth engagement instead of a tension spring.
Beveller Benefits
The ability to use plasma beveling on a smaller cutting table, such as the Combirex Pro, is possible because DMX Beveller reduces the size and weight of the beveling head. The DMX Beveller works in conjunction with ESAB’s SquareCut Technology, which can further improve the productivity of automated plasma cutting operations. SquareCut Technology tilts the torch to compensate for the 1- to 3-degree edge angle inherent in high-precision plasma cutting to provide three distinct benefits: a High-Speed Mode cuts up to two times faster without increasing bevel angle; a Quality Mode creates a cut surface with a 0 to 1 degree bevel and improved Enhanced Hole Technology to cut smaller holes with better cylindricity.

ESAB TO UNVEIL CUTMASTER® 50+ AND CUTMASTER 70+
MANUAL PLASMA CUTTERS AT SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN
ESAB will unveil its new Cutmaster® 50+ and Cutmaster 70+ manual plasma cutting systems in stand 6A13 in Hall 6 at Schweissen & Schneiden trade fair, 11-15 September, 2023. Cutmaster 50+ has a recommended pierce and cut capacity of 16 mm and severs metal up to 32 mm; it has a rated cutting output of 50A at 60% duty cycle and weighs 16 kg. The Cutmaster 70+ has a recommended pierce and cut capacity of 19 mm and severs metal up to 38 mm; it has a rated cutting output of 70A at 60% duty cycle and weighs 16 kg. Both machines use 400V +/- 10% 3ph mains power. It comes with an SL60 1Torch™ with 5.0 m cable.
“The Cutmaster 50+ and Cutmaster 70+ feature our signature 110 mm TFT LCD display, which we paired with a glove-friendly knob for selecting and setting parameters,” says Kris Scherm, Global Product Manager, ESAB. “These machines also offer a built-in 14-pin CPC port for easy CNC mechanization. Smaller fabricators have told us that they want the flexibility to switch between manual and mechanized cutting to maximize utilization of their machines.”
For straight line cutting and gouging applications controlled with a simple start stop switch, the ESAB MechPak includes a 180-degree (“straight”) torch and all required hardware to allow precision setup and control for many semi-automated applications. The MechPak is compatible with all Cutmaster plasma systems with an ATC-style torch connection.
TFT Display
Through the TFT display, Cutmaster 50+ and 70+ users can access, set and see such features as normal and grate cutting mode and 2T (standard) or 4T (“trigger latch”) mode. The 4T mode allows the operator to press and release the trigger and cut without holding the trigger, reducing hand fatigue on long cuts. The torch also features a “double-tap” trigger; tapping the trigger twice shuts the gas solenoid valve, extending the cutting time when using small portable cylinders of compressed air or nitrogen. Other features include automatic inlet/outlet air pressure detection, automatic post-cut air purge to extend consumables life and an automatic voltage detection function, which sets maximum output amperage based on primary power, optimizing cutting performance.
With their three-handle design, all machines in the Cutmaster “+” series provide portability, protection and convenient cable organization. Their IP23S housing handles rugged environments, making the machines suitable for industrial and general fabrication, light fabrication, industrial production and manufacturing, automotive bodies, agricultural equipment, HVAC, repair/maintenance, pipeline, and training schools.

new esab robosystem features RObofeed edge feeder,
next-generation Aristo® EDGe 500r robotic power source
ESAB has introduced its ESAB RoboSystem, a welding package that includes the new RoboFeed Edge robotic wire feeder, the new Aristo® Edge 500R power source, an automation gateway, a variety of torch options and dress kits for leading robotic systems. An innovative mounting design allows the fast installation and maintenance of the RoboFeed Edge feeder on hollow wrist and standard arm robots.
RoboFeed Edge features ESAB’s PreciDrive wire drive system to deliver superior arc starts and stops and better feeding. It integrates new wire and gas flow sensing and control technologies that improve uptime, performance and WPS/PQR compliance. For example, RoboFeed Edge senses the motor load to detect wire path constrictions. TrueFlow™ digital gas control technology ensures flow rates stay within the WPS. It also eliminates gas surges during arc start to prevent porosity and minimizes gas waste.
The new RoboSystem will debut in the ESAB stand 6A13 in Hall 6 at the Schweissen & Schneiden trade fair. The RoboFeed Edge and Aristo Edge 500R use high speed, low latency communications to support fast, effective process control and coordination with connected devices and to enable the use of advanced welding processes. The systems also feature built-in connectivity for InduSuite applications such as WeldCloud Fleet, WeldCloud Productivity and the new WeldCloud Assembly. With WeldCloud apps, managers can remotely perform software updates, import and export weld schedules, receive notifications from individual machines for service alerts and analyze welding data.
Precision Feeding and Flow
RoboFeed EDGE features ESAB’s PreciDrive wire drive system, which combines high precision, power and reliability to feed solid wires up to 1.6 mm. Internal LED lights illuminate the feed mechanism for easy and safe exchange of feed rollers. PreciDrive delivers better arc starts and stops and better feeding. It uses a special drive mode for the motor, an encoder for precise positioning and has little to no backlash in the gears. The 4-wheel drive system uses larger diameter (38 mm) drive rolls that offer more gripping area and provides more pushing force without deforming soft cored and aluminium wires, a common source of feeding problems. RoboFeed EDGE senses the motor load to detect wire path constrictions.
Digital Gas Control
Instead of a standard solenoid valve with open/closed positions, the RoboFeed EDGE feeder uses TrueFlow™ digital gas control technology with a proportional flow valve to provide variable control. The proportional control mechanism incorporates two sensors, a differential pressure sensor and an absolute pressure sensor. The differential pressure sensor regulates gas flow rate in liters per minute, and the absolute pressure sensor determines the mass flow rate. Combined, they can precisely and rapidly control gas flow to eliminate gas surges during arc start, minimize gas waste and ensure WPS compliance. TrueFlow also helps prevent weld defects due to insufficient gas flow or gas-out situations.
RoboFeed EDGE can also provide high-volume air blow-out to remove spatter from the gas nozzle, tip and diffuser after the spatter is broken up by an automatic torch cleaning station, such as the Jetstream from ESAB.
Faster Control, Less Spatter
The Aristo Edge 500R has a rated welding output of 500 amps at 60 percent duty cycle for synergic MIG/MAG/flux cored and pulsed MIG. It features the company’s next-generation digital control electronics for more controlled arc starts and greater arc stability to minimize spatter during all GMAW transfer modes.
The Aristo Edge welding current control module uses Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology. Compared to previous technology, Aristo Edge can detect and clear a short circuit or manage current transients up to 10 times faster. As a result, the system minimizes weld spatter and creates a stable, more controllable weld pool, and it can deliver a stable welding arc even if mains current fluctuates. The new Edge platform also enables ESAB engineers to develop, optimize and update each welding process independently, giving users the confidence of buying a future-proof system.
ESAB is also introducing new transfer modes, including a SPEED mode that creates a more focused arc by taking a conventional spray transfer arc and overlaying a modified pulsed MIG wave form on top of it. Benefits of the SPEED mode include improved control at higher travel speeds, reduced spatter, deeper more focused penetration in fillet welds and ability to weld in more narrow grooves.
SPEED mode is currently available for carbon steel wires, with synergic lines for other wire types in development. Also in development is a modified short circuit transfer mode for welding thinner sections. To be introduced later in 2023, the Thin mode provides more control over heat input, creates a more controllable puddle, lowers spatter and reduces the chance of burn-through.

Rustler users include those in general and industrial fabricaction, structural steel fabrication, repair and maintenance applications who want a compact, integrated system that offers easy mobility around a shop environment. The machines are assembled at ESAB’s facility in Opole, Poland.
Faster Set Up
The Synergic Control on Rustler EM 350C PRO Synergic lets fabricators weld most common base materials with factory-optimized arc programs for carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and self-shielded flux cored wires. After welders set the wire type, wire diameter and shielding gas mix, Rustler automatically sets and maintains optimized welding parameters throughout the entire range of material thicknesses, eliminating the guess-work associated with traditional controls. To weld faster or “hotter,” simply increase wire feed feed. To weld slower or “cooler,” decrease wire feed speed.
A Modernised Inverter
All Rustler models offer advanced control functions such as spot welding mode, gas pre- and post-flow, creep start, wire burnback control, crater fill, 2T/4T trigger control and Arc Dynamics (a control to fine tune arc characterics for a crisp/stiff arc when welding carbon steel or a smooth/soft arc when welding stainless steel). Users can also program, store and recall five sets of parameters using Quick Job buttons on the front of the machine.
“Rustler inverters combine simple, intuitive controls and reliable operation for small fabricators and welding fleets,” says Bartosz Kutarba, Global Product Manager – Light Industrial Equipment, ESAB. “With Rustler’s excellent arc characteristics, fabricators can weld with a stable arc and minimal spatter to further improve productivity. These welders also offer an MMA (SMAW) output, which provides the flexibility to weld different types of base materials and satisfy procedures that specify the MMA process.”
Rustler features a premium 4-wheel drive feeding mechanism (strengthened gears from sintered steel that last longer than most of available mechanisms on the market) to deliver precision arc starts and stops and steady feeding performance with wire diameters from 0.6 to 1.6 mm; it accepts 200 and 300 mm wire spools. Torch options include the ESAB PSF 315 torch (with cable length options of 3, 4 or 5 m) or the ESAB Exeor 315 R4 torch for remote control cababiities.
“ESAB also created a more user-friendly machine,” says Kutarba. “Welding operators will appreciate such conveniences as a storage box on top of the unit, a torch rest to keep the torch off the floor, cable and PPE hangers for better organization and two handles to easily manoeuver the system around the shop.” Rustler machines weigh 54 to 61 kg depending on the model, or about 40% less than the comparable Origo Mig.

ESAB LAUNCHES VISION T6™, THE MOST INTUITVE CNC CONTROLLER
FOR AUTOMATED PLASMA AND OXY-FUEL CUTTING
ESAB has unveiled its Vision T6™ CNC, a next-generation controller for automated plasma and oxy-fuel cutting machines that is as intuitive to use as a smart phone or tablet. The Vision T6 features a multi-touch, high-definition panel with a Windows operating system. The Vision includes such functions as swipe-to-zoom, drag-and-drop and a familiar home button. The home button gives quick and easy access to a full range of features and capabilities, letting operators select and edit programs, create nests, locate parts on a plate, and cut.
“ESAB created the most operator-friendly CNC controller in the industry,” says Steve Zlotnicki, Global Product Manager, ESAB Cutting Systems. “Customers asked to us help reduce the CNC controller learning curve so that their new employees could become productive with minimal training. The Vision T6 accomplishes that mission, plus adds functions to increase productivity and quality.”
The new Vision T6 has a 546 mm (21.5-in.) high-definition display that is 16% larger that the Vision T5. The control housing is machined from a single aluminum billet for a sleek and rugged display. The Vision T6 is available for both new machines and retrofit applications, and supports ESAB’s wide range of cutting, beveling, and marking tools, including the DMX Plasma Beveler. These machines are used by fabricators and manufacturers of all sizes, steel service centers, and defense contractors.
The Vision T6 connects with Columbus®, ESAB’s industry-leading CAD/CAM programming and nesting software, now part of the InduSuite family of fabrication software products. Users can also choose the optional EasyNest feature for automatic, true-shape nesting right at the machine. The Vision T6 works seamlessly with the InduSuite CutCloud connected application to collect data from the Vision T6 to provide information and insights to improve productivity.
Improved Productivity
With the Vision T6’s new plate and part awareness function, operators do not need to physically align the plate (e.g., physically square it with the table and measure its position). Instead, the operator can jog the machine to the plate corners or pick points along a plate remnant, even if it’s an irregular shape. The controller then knows the exact shape, size and location of the plate on the table displayed graphically for operators to see. Operators can then choose a program and simply drag and drop the part or parts nest onto the plate and it will snap to the correct position. Operators do not have to worry about lining up the part; the Vision T6 controller does it for them, ensuring accuracy without the need for a dry run.
ESAB integrates all process controls into the Vision T6, simplifying operation and reducing manual errors, unlocking the full productivity potential of a machine. ESAB software can control and automate virtually every step of the production process to ensure fast, accurate, and easy operation. The Vision T6 also controls common gantry accessories, including the DMX automated plasma beveler, automatic drilling systems, inkjet, pin stamp or plasma marking stations. It can also control torches for cutting tubes, pipes and domes, cut with the waterjet and laser processes, and control accessories for primer removal by blasting or grinding.
Built-in Features
The new controller has a built-in RFID tag reader which allows individual operators to log-in/log-out for simple control of permissions and traceability. A built-in Process Database with a graphical selector makes plasma or oxyfuel process set-up quick and easy. It simplifies the set-up by automatically setting parameters such as cutting speed, kerf offset, and timers based on material thickness, type, and cut quality needed. Also built-in is the EasyShape™ Part Program Generator which includes 88 pre-designed variable shapes and allows for DXF and DWG import and automatically adds lead-ins, lead-outs, and small hole technology where applicable.

ESAB will provide welding demonstrations of its Warrior® Edge 500 CX multi-process power source and RobustFeed Edge CX wire feeder in stand 6A13 in Hall 6 at Schweissen & Schneiden, held 11 - 15 September in Essen, Germany. The Warrior Edge system makes it possible for both new and experienced welders to achieve excellent welding results without a complex set-up process. It also has built-in connectivity and comes with a subscription to the InduSuite WeldCloud Fleet online software application. RobustFeed Edge CX also features a new digital gas control technology called TrueFlow™ that improves welding quality, saves gas and helps avoid weld defects caused by improper flow rates.
The Warrior Edge 500 CX has a rated welding output of 500 amps at 60 percent duty cycle for synergic MIG/flux cored, pulsed MIG, Stick, gouging and Live TIG. It features the company’s next-generation digital control electronics for more controlled arc starts and greater arc stability to minimise spatter.
Visitors to the ESAB stand will be able to see the Warrior Edge weld in the spray transfer, pulsed spray transfer and new SPEED mode. The SPEED mode creates a more focused arc by taking a conventional spray transfer arc and overlaying a modified pulsed MIG wave form on top of it. Benefits of the SPEED mode include improved control at higher travel speeds, reduce spatter, deeper more focused penetration in fillet welds and ability to weld in more narrow grooves.
Visitors can also see how the Warrior Edge integrates with InduSuite applications such as WeldCloud Fleet and WeldCloud Productivity to connect data, machinery and processes to optimize fabrication workflow. WeldCloud Fleet enables users to manage welding jobs across a fleet of equipment at one or multiple locations, saving hours of time.
Simpler, More Robust
To simplify operation, the RobustFeed Edge CX feeder locates material selection and configurations inside the case. Day-to-day settings, which include three “quick job” buttons to recall pre-programmed weld parameters, are all managed on the clear and easy-to-understand front panel interface to allow for effective operation. Inside the feeder, a TFT LCD interface allows for menu based, clear text and intuitive interaction in the user’s native language.
RobustFeed Edge features an effective and quick to set-up operator management system that uses an RFID-reader to scan operator badges. This allows locking parameter limits for the quick jobs, improving repeatability and adherence to Weld Procedure Specifications.
The new TrueFlow digital gas control technology offers advanced precision, confidence and cost savings. The system automatically prevents insufficient gas flow and optimises flow during arc starts and welding, a common source of quality issues and gas waste. It can save €600 to €1,200 per year, per machine in typical use cases.
RobustFeed Edge builds on the proven ESAB RobustFeed platform, which won the prestigious 2021 Red Dot Award for product design. The RobustFeed platform features SpoolSafe™, a unique-in-the-market IP54 protection against dirt/dust that keeps wire dry and clean, improves feedability and reduces risk of weld contamination. RobustFeed Edge also includes the reliable PreciDrive wire drive system that maintains precision wire feeding performance to promote consistent weld quality.
RobustFeed Edge CX works with ESAB’s new Exeor torch, which features a slim, balanced lightweight design with soft grip area. Remote function buttons on the top of the torch enable adjustments without an additional cable. The torch is available in both air- and water-cooled versions. Both provide superior cooling performance even at high parameters, further improving operator comfort and extending consumables life. An LED light illuminates the welding area prior to arc start.

INDUSUITE launches weldcloud assembly,
A NEW APPLICATION FOR WELD TRACEABILITY
InduSuite today introduced WeldCloud Assembly, a cloud-based digital application that combines project management functions and weld traceability from WeldCloud Notes and merges them with the ability to record weld session data from WeldCloud Productivity. The new app offers supervisors and managers a Global Dashboard that provides insight into four areas of project management: current production state of a project, percentage of welds completed, repair rate and welds waiting.
Key functions include the ability to record weld session data directly from a welding power source and enable immediate comparison to Weld Procedure Specification (WPS). If a weld is outside the WPS, the system can send an alert so that users can immediately repair the weld and begin identifying the root cause of problems.
“WeldCloud Assembly helps companies requiring heavy documentation, compliance, traceability and accountability perform essential project management tasks with greater efficiency and accuracy,” says Tiago Pereira, InduSuite product manager. “WeldCloud Assembly will change how companies handle welding data and welding relationships.” The application made its debut at ESAB stand 6A13 in Hall 6 at Schweissen & Schneiden, held 11 - 15 September in Essen, Germany.
Brand Agnostic Analytics
Instead of the tedious process of manually recording welding data, which is also subject to human error and tampering, WeldCloud Assembly digitizes the process for speed and accuracy. With the WeldCloud Universal Connector or WeldCloud-enabled power source, welding data for virtually any brand of welder can be recorded and analyzed. By capturing data and linking it to the WPS, users can give their customers greater quality confidence.
“WeldCloud Assembly will change relationships by enabling digital communication with a central, online platform,” says Pereira. “For example, it connects engineers with supervisors by enabling them to send welding instructions to their mobile devices. By communicating production status, it connects sub-contractors and production managers. By enabling weld inspectors to enter notes from the field, it connects them with QC departments.”
WeldCloud Assembly provides a consistent production platform that is useful particularly for power generation, oil and gas, shipbuilding, structural steel and other industries with traceability requirements. The software sends all the information on each weld directly to the cloud, which can then be accessed via a computer, tablet or other mobile device. Because the information is transmitted directly from the shop floor, there is no chance for misinformation.
Saves Time, Improves Production
WeldCloud Assembly also identifies production bottlenecks by tracking weld stages. For example, a user may learn that they have a backlog of welds that have not been inspected yet, which may mean the inspection process needs additional support. Additionally, WeldCloud Assembly allows customers to track all projects, with each subcontractor, ensure weld quality and compliance, print weld reports with non-destructive testing requirements and get statistical measurements of assemblies, parts, welds, repair rates, audit logs, and full counts of all types of documents.
WeldCloud Assembly can create detailed comparisons and graphs of customizable weld details. For example, it can show users the completion of each project phase. A color-coded graph of each weld session is also available to monitor each weld, in real time, at a glance. It identifies compliant welds in green and welds that occurred outside of the set parameters in red.
The Inspection segment of WeldCloud Assembly is also customizable and includes testing options (e.g., visual, radiographic, ultrasonic, etc.), test status (planned or executed), all tests approved, tests failed, and location of the weld failure (base, groove, weld or heat affected zone).
“Our customers want maximum traceability on their high-profile jobs,” continues Pereira. “They want to know what is happening on the shop floor, at multiple locations, in real time so they can fix any issues immediately. WeldCloud Assembly provides them with instant insights and greater transparency, all in an easy-to-use digital platform.”
InduSuite Portfolio
InduSuite cloud-based solutions include WeldCloud Productivity, WeldCloud Fleet, WeldCloud Notes and CutCloud for cutting data analytics. Installed InduSuite software applications include COLUMBUS CAD/CAM nesting software for automated cutting/beveling, OCTOPUZ for offline robot programming and EasyNest Online a cloud-based nesting software created in partnership with Alma (almacam.com). InduSuite applications are brand agnostic, so they can connect data, machinery and processes across a mixed fleet of welding, cutting and robotic equipment.
The InduSuite portfolio helps companies improve efficiency and quality at every step of the fabrication process, from plate to finished product. InduSuite apps do not require IT expertise. The cloud-based applications feature an intuitive interface that enables users to be up and running after about an hour of training. They function on a common platform built with Microsoft Azure’s secure and reliable cloud architecture. To learn more, visit indusuite.com.
